Christian Hohenadel (born September 20, 1976 in Dudweiler ) is a German racing driver . In 2010 he became FIA GT3 European Champion .

Career

Hohenadel began his motorsport career in 1987 in kart racing , in which he was active until 1996. As early as 1993 Hohenadel was in the German Formula BMW his Formula racing debut . However, he did not complete his second season in this series until 1997. From 1998 he competed in the German Formula Ford for two years . In his second season he finished eighth with one win. In 2000 he switched to Formula Palmer Audi and was runner-up behind Bruce Jouanny .

In 2001 Hohenadel left formula racing and switched to touring car racing . He contested a race in the V8-Star , a German touring car series, and finished 22nd overall. In 2002 he stayed in this series and started seven races. He finished the season in 19th place in the drivers' championship. In 2003 he moved to the German Alfa 147 Cup and finished the season third in the championship. In 2004 he stayed in this series. In 2005 Hohenadel switched to the German SEAT Leon Supercopa . With two victories, he finished fifth overall in his first season. In 2006 Hohenadel held its fifth overall placement. That year, however, he won four races. In 2007 the racing driver contested his third season in the German SEAT Leon Supercopa. He won a race and finished seventh in the championship.

After Hohenadel already in 2007 in the ADAC GT Masters first race in the GT had denied Trek, he moved in 2008 completely in the ADAC GT Masters. He won a race, made four podiums and finished the season in fifth place overall. In 2009 Hohenadel contested another season in the ADAC GT Masters. With a win he improved to fourth place overall. He also made his debut in the FIA GT3 European Championship . In 2010 Hohenadel competed again in the ADAC GT Masters and finished 14th in the drivers' championship. His main focus this season, however, was on the FIA ​​GT3 European Championship. Together with his team-mate Daniel Keilwitz , he won four races and became FIA ​​GT3 European champion.

In 2011 Hohenadel switched to the FIA GT1 World Championship . For Hexis AMR he competes with Andrea Piccini in an Aston Martin DBR9 . The two won the championship race at the Sachsenring .

In 2013 Hohenadel started for the Callaway Competition team in the ADAC GT Masters . He will share the Corvette C6 Z06-R GT3 with his team-mate Andreas Wirth .
