Bruce Jouanny (born June 11, 1978 in Paris ) is a French racing driver .

Career in motorsport

Bruce Jouanny earned academic degrees alongside his motorsport career . He has a baccalaureate in literature ; He is also a Bachelor of Business Administration in the field of Marketing and speaks perfect English and Spanish in addition to his mother tongue .

He started racing in 1996 in the French Formula Renault championship . After a ninth place in 1998, he finished the 1999 season in third overall behind Lucas Lasserre and Mathieu Zangarelli . The following year he switched to the Formula Palmer Audi whose overall junior ranking he won.

In 2001 he tried to gain a foothold in Formula 3 and competed in various series of this racing formula. He drove in both the Japanese and British championships , contested the Formula 3 race at the Macau Grand Prix and was involved in South Korea . The best championship placement was fourth overall in 2002 , behind Robbie Kerr , James Courtney and Heikki Kovalainen . In the monopostoport followed two years in the World Series by Nissan and 2006 an unsuccessful year in the Formula Renault 3.5, which emerged from the World Series.

Jouanny's sports car activities began during the time in the Nissan series. In 2005 he made his debut for Courage Compétition at the 24 Hours of Le Mans , where he has competed three times so far. The best place was the eighth place overall in 2009 , with the partners Christophe Tinseau and João Barbosa for the team of Henri Pescarolo . The greatest success in the sports car was fourth place in the 2008 Monza 1000 km race . His last racing appearance so far was a class win at the Bathurst 12 Hours in 2013 .

Bruce Jouanny, who has not officially resigned, was a test driver for the Superleague Formula car for several years and, alongside Ben Edwards, guest commentator on BBC motorsport broadcasts .
