Ascari Cars Ltd. is a former British manufacturer of sports and racing cars. The company was named after Alberto Ascari , the first two-time world automobile champion. The head office is in Banbury, England . The company operates a racetrack in Spain.

history

The company was founded in 1995 by the Dutch entrepreneur and racing driver Klaas Zwart in Dorset , and from 1998 the Ascari Ecosse sports car was sold in limited numbers.

In 2000, Ascari Cars built a new production hall in Banbury . The company's second vehicle, the Ascari KZ1 , has already been developed in Banbury, which is also where the “Team Ascari” racing department is located.

In 2003 the Circuito Ascari racetrack was opened, with a racing, karting and off-road track as well as a clubhouse and various facilities. The circuit is located in Ronda in southern Spain . It is operated by the Spanish Circuito Ascari SL, which also includes the Ascari Race Resort hotel complex .

From 2007 the third series of the Ascari A10 was manufactured.

Vehicle production has now been discontinued. A source gives the year 2009. The company still exists and still operates the “Race Resort”.
