Sammio Motor Car Company , previously Sammio Motor Company , is a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

2010 Gary Janes founded the company Sammio Motor Company in Bournemouth in the county of Dorset . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name is Sammio . In 2012 Andrew Powell took over the company, changed the name to Sammio Motor Car Company and relocated to Preston , Lancashire . Gary Janes was also involved at the time. The company is now based in Leyland , Lancashire. A total of over 90 vehicles have been built so far.

It is unclear whether there is a connection to the Sammio Motor Company Limited founded on November 17, 2014 in Westbury-on-Trym near Bristol .

One model is the Spyder . This is a 1950s style roadster . The base forms a chassis of Triumph , optionally one of Triumph Herald with four-cylinder engine or the Triumph Vitesse with six-cylinder engine .

The outwardly identical Cheveux is based on the chassis of the Citroën 2 CV with its two-cylinder engine .

The Cordite , announced in 2012, is also a 1950s-style roadster. It is also based on Triumph technology.
