Berkeley Developments , previously Berkeley Motor Company , was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Anthony Argyle founded the company in 1991 Berkeley Motor Company in Syston in the county of Leicestershire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Berkeley , based on the historical manufacturer Berkeley Cars . Dave Ratner took over the company in 1996, renamed it Berkeley Developments and relocated to Langley Hill in Nottinghamshire . Production ended in 2002. A total of about 13 copies were made.

The first Bandini model was a replica of the Berkeley T 60 . It was a tricycle with a single rear wheel. The four-cylinder engine came from the Mini . About seven copies were made by 2002.

The Camerotta was inspired by the British Motor Corporation 's ADO 35 prototype . It was a small open sports car in the style of the MG Midget . Around six vehicles were built between 2000 and 2002.

The company also manufactured replicas of the Lamborghini Countach on the chassis of the VW Beetle in the early 1990s .
