Manx is a British car brand.

Brand history

Mel Hubbard founded in 1999, the company Manxbuggies in Dartford in the county of Kent . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand names are u. a. Bounty and Manx . He later moved to Wisbech in Cambridgeshire . In 2003, East Coast Manx from Uppingham in Rutland continued production under the direction of Rob Kilham. In 2007 he moved to King's Lynn in Norfolk . A total of about 240 copies have been made so far. It is exported to Belgium , Ireland and the Netherlands .

There are two different VW buggies on offer .

The first goes back to a design by Bruce Meyers, who manufactured the vehicle from 1964 in his company Meyers Manx in the USA . The basis is the chassis of the VW Beetle . About 140 copies of this model have been made so far.

The Manx II is slightly wider and has a different shape in the area of ​​the rear seats and the stern. It has found around 100 buyers since 1999.
