Domino Cars Organization , previously Domino Cars , Domino Car Company (UK) Limited , Domino Composites and Composite Designs , was a British manufacturer of automobiles . The company names Domino Composite Products Limited and Composite Designs & Products Limited are also mentioned.

Company history

John Ingram founded in 1986, the company Domino Cars in Southampton in the county of Hampshire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Domino . In 1994 the name was changed to Domino Car Company (UK) Limited when John Chapman took over the company, and in 2004 another to Domino Composites under the direction of Colin Moore. In 2006 it became Composite Designs . After its liquidation at the end of 2007, Domino Cars organization continued production under the direction of Ian E. Broadbent. Production ended in 2008. A total of about 220 copies were made.

The website opencorporates.com presents the course a little differently. Accordingly, the company was founded on May 7, 1986. On December 7, 2001, the name changed from Domino Car Company (UK) Limited to Domino Composite Products Limited and on March 19, 2007 to Composite Designs & Products Limited . On December 15, 2008 the company was dissolved. The company's headquarters were in Woolston near Southampton in Hampshire until October 11, 2006 , in Eastleigh in Hampshire until January 11, 2008 and then in Southampton. Directors were John Henry Chapman, John David Ingram until December 2, 1991, Colin John Chapman until May 15, 1996, Peter Cameron-Nott until August 6, 1997, Rosemarie Moore from October 6, 1997 to November 24, 1999, Gloria Jane Sinclair from October 6, 2004 and Peter Louis Sturges from May 1, 2007.

All models were based on the Mini and had a fiberglass body . Richard Oakes was the designer.

The first and best-selling model was the Pimlico . It was something like a beach wagon with a roll bar , of which around 100 were made between 1986 and 2008.

The Pup Pickup was also on offer during the entire period. This was a pickup truck that had around ten buyers.

The convertible added to the range in 1987. This was a Mini as a convertible with a roll bar. Around 45 copies were made by 2008.

The Premier was a modification of the convertible . Among other things, the doors were smaller. The Premier Plus was 15 cm longer. About 40 of these two versions were made from 1988 onwards.

The HT was a sedan that was also available as a racing version. From 1988 onwards it found around 25 buyers.
