Hi-Tech Engineering was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

1988 Pat Matthews founded the company in Kidderminster in the county of Worcestershire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Hi-Tech . Production ended in 1991. A total of about 17 copies were made. Another source gives a connection to the steel company Hi-Tech Welding Services from the same place and gives the production period as 1986 to 1990.

The only GT 40 model was a replica of the Ford GT 40 . The basis was a tubular space frame. In addition to a V6 engine from the Renault 30 , various V8 engines from Rover and American manufacturers were available. In addition to a number of coupés , there were also two versions with a Targa roof .
