Britannia Cars Ltd. was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Acland Geddes founded the company in Ashwell in 1957 and began manufacturing automobiles. The brand name was Britannia . Production ended in 1960. A total of six copies were made.

John Tojeiro designed the only GT model . The base was a tubular space frame. A special feature was the independent suspension. The coupé body was made of fiberglass . The six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 2553 cc came from the Ford Zephyr . Raymond Mays tuned it to 110 hp . The original price was £ 2,400 , while a Jaguar XK 150 only cost £ 2,000.
