The Jaguar XK 150 was a sports car that Jaguar launched in 1957 as the successor to the Jaguar XK 140 .

The models Jaguar XK 150 FHC ( F ixed H ead C oupé) and DHC ( D rop H ead C oupé) had, as its predecessor, a six-cylinder in-line engine with 3442 cc capacity and 193 or 213 hp. The rear wheels were driven via a four-speed gearbox, overdrive available as an option. A BorgWarner automatic transmission was also available on request . The car reached a top speed of 210 km / h. From 1958 there was the XK 150 S model. Its engine was brought to 254 hp with a third carburettor and accelerated the vehicles to 215 km / h. From the beginning of 1959, all variants were also delivered with the engine bored out to 3781 cc and 223 hp, the 3.8 S with 267 hp (top speed 215 km / h). The XK 150 was one of the first vehicles to be equipped with four disc brakes as standard.

The most noticeable changes to the bodies were the one-piece panoramic windshield, the omitted hip curve of the previous models, the continuous rear bumper and the Jaguar figure on the bonnet. From 1958 the two-seater roadster OTS ( O pen T wo S eater) was offered again, which for the first time had crank discs on the doors. The XK 150 was available in Carmen Red, Red, Wine Red, Imperial Maroon, Black, Cornish Gray, Fog Gray, Pearl Gray, White, Cotswold Blue, Indigo Blue, Sherwood Green and British Racing Green .

Up to 1961 1,300 roadsters OTS, 3,457 coupés FHC and 1,893 convertibles DHC were produced, of which the XK 150 S accounted for 888 roadsters, 199 coupes and 104 convertibles. In March 1961, the XK 150 model was replaced by the Jaguar E-Type .
