The Jaguar Mark V was a luxury car that Jaguar brought onto the market in 1948 as a successor to the sedans of the 2½ liter and 3½ liter models .

The Jaguar Mark V took over the six-cylinder in-line engines of the predecessor with 2663 cm³ displacement and 102 bhp or 3485 cm³ and 125 bhp. The rear wheels were driven via a four-speed gearbox with center shift. The maximum speed was between 140 and 150 km / h. The Mark V was the first Jaguar to have fully hydraulic brake actuation. The front wheels were individually suspended from double wishbones with hydraulic dampers and torsion bar suspension. The bodywork had also changed significantly compared to its predecessor: the headlights were no longer individually mounted on the fenders, but integrated into them. The wheel cutouts of the rear wheels were initially covered. In addition to the sedan, a two-door convertible was also offered in both performance classes.

In 1951 production was stopped. By then, 1674 sedans of the 2½ liter and 7828 of the 3½ liter had been built, as well as 29 and 971 convertibles respectively. The successor was the Jaguar Mark VII .
