Alternative Vehicle Center was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

1985 Terry Sands founded the company in Redditch in the county of Worcestershire after he Sheldonhurst had left. He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was AVC . Production ended in 1990. A total of over 500 copies were made. Sands continued production from 1997 in his new Legend Motor Company .

vehicles

The California and Speedster models were replicas of the Porsche 356 as previously manufactured by Sheldonhurst. Then there was the 550 Spyder , a replica of the Porsche 550 from the 1950s.

The Mongoose was inspired by a Ford Model T racing car from around 1927. The basis was a Ford Cortina . An open two-seater body was mounted on it. AVC made about 50 copies.

In addition, made from 1985 to 1986 some modifications of the VW Beetle in convertibles , the Apollo were called.
