Classic Replicas Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Ken Cook, who previously Bright Wheel Replicas headed, founded in 1989, the company in Bournemouth in the county of Hampshire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Classic Replicas . In 1993 Dorset Motor Services was taken over, although it remains unclear whether their models were still produced by Classic Replicas. Production ended in 2002. A total of around 200 copies were made.

There was no connection to Classic Replicas (UK) from Taunton , which used the same brand name from 2002.

vehicles

The best-selling model was the Viper and its cheap version Viper 4 . These were replicas of the AC Cobra . The vehicles were based on Ford Taunus , Ford Granada and models from Jaguar Cars . Engines from Chevrolet , Ford and Rover powered the vehicles. Around 150 copies were made between 1989 and 2002.

A company from Poppenhausen offered kits from DM 9,000 and complete vehicles from DM 59,000 in Germany.

The other model was the Cub , later renamed the Mule . This vehicle resembled a Mini Moke . It was based on the Mini . Around 50 copies were made between 1998 and 2002.
