SD was a British car brand.

Brand history

Stan Daniel from Ipswich in the county of Suffolk designed from 1986 to 1987, a single piece called SD . Transformer Cars from Frant in East Sussex brought the model into series production in 1987 or 1988, which included both complete vehicles and kit cars . The brand name remained SD . Stan Daniel founded Elmsett Road Racing Automobiles in Aldham , Suffolk in 1989 or 1990 and continued production. Production ended in 1998 or 2000. A total of about five copies were made.

The only model was the 500 . It resembled a Ferrari 500 Mondial from the 1950s. A light spaceframe formed the basis. An engine from the Alfa Romeo Alfetta was mounted in a mid-engine design behind the seats. The open body was made of fiberglass and offered space for two people.
