RW Kitcars Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

1983 Roger Woolley founded the company in Melton Mowbray in the county of Leicestershire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was RW . Production ended in 2000. A total of over 800 copies were made.

The first and best-selling model was the Karma . RW took over the AD Karma model from Automobile Design & Developments , which was previously marketed under the AD brand. The vehicle was similar to the Dino 246 . To select the stood chassis from VW Beetle with its four-cylinder - Boxer engine in the rear, a chassis with front engine from the Ford Cortina and one with a mid-engine - V8 of Rover . About 795 copies were made of this model.

The chopper was available from 1983 to 1984. It was a trike with an engine from the VW Beetle. About five copies were made of this.

The Taurus was a replica of a Lamborghini Countach . This was originally a project by Automobile Design & Developments as well. This model was also based on the VW Beetle. About 32 vehicles were built between 1985 and 1986, of which about 30 were sold to Germany.

The 427 was the successor to the AD 427 and thus a replica of the AC Cobra . 18 vehicles had a front engine with rear wheel drive. Ten other kits that were sold to France were based on the chassis of the VW Beetle.
