Deetype Replicas PLC was a British company in the automotive and former automobile manufacturer.

Company history

The company was on November 26, 1974 in East Hanningfield in the county of Essex founded. The production of automobiles and kits began. The brand name was Deetype . From May 30, 1992, Bryan Frederick Wingfield led the company. At the same time, but only until November 25, 1992, Steven Hind Marsh Smith was also a director. Later the company was located in Chelmsford , Essex. Production ended in 1999. A total of about 26 copies were made. In 2010 the company was dissolved.

D-Type Replica

This was a replica of a Jaguar D-Type . There was a choice of versions with a long and short front. The chassis was partly made of aluminum . A six-cylinder engine from Jaguar Cars powered the vehicle. In 1979 the price for a complete vehicle was £ 23,000 . Around 22 of this model were made by 1981.

XK-SS Replica

The street version of the D-Type, the Jaguar XK-SS , was also available as a replica.

XJ 13 replica

This was a replica of the Jaguar XJ 13 . Only one copy was made between 1976 and 1981.

GT 40

Deetype made three vehicles that resembled the Ford GT 40 between 1996 and 1998 .
