Technical Exponents

The Technical Exponents Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer based in London SW6 from 1967 to 1975. Sports cars were manufactured there under the name TX .

In 1967 the Tripper 1300 was released. It was based on the mechanical components of the Spitfire and was therefore with an overhead- equipped four-cylinder in-line engine with 1.3 liter displacement, the 61 hp (45 kW) at 5500 min -1 gave. The car was available either on the original chassis or on a TX chassis with a 2,108 mm wheelbase.

In 1968, the Tripper 2000 and Tripper 2500 models were added, based on the mechanical components of the Triumph GT6 . The stripper had a 2000-line six-cylinder engine with 2.0 liter displacement and an output of 104 bhp (76.5 kW) at 5300 min -1 . In the case of the Tripper 2500, the engine came from the Triumph 2.5 PI , a six-cylinder injection engine with 2.5 l displacement and an output of 132 bhp (97 kW) or 152 bhp (112 kW). Both cars could be ordered with the chassis of the GT6 or the above-mentioned TX chassis.

In 1975 production was stopped because the corresponding Triumph models had expired.
