Swift Motor Components Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

1970 Javan Swift founded the company in Birstall in the county of Leicestershire . Both Park Road 85 and Sibson Road are given as addresses. The production of automobiles and kits began. The brand name was Ufo . Production ended in 1971. A total of about 22 copies were made. The connection to UFO Cars from the same location that was in the industry at the same time is not known.

The Buggy model was a VW buggy . The chassis of a VW Beetle formed the basis. Different versions such as Strip , Strip Burner and Sunstrip Burner were available. Kit prices ranged from £ 130 to £ 375.

The doodlebug was a kind of hot rod . It was also based on the chassis of the VW Beetle.
