Ayrespeed , previously the Brookland Motor Company , was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The author Iain Ayre founded the Brookland Motor Company in 1993 in the London borough of Kensington . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was initially Brookland . In 1994 the name was changed to Ayrespeed . That also became the new brand name. Production ended in 1998. A total of about four copies were made.

The only model was the Swallow . This was a 1960s-style four-seater small car with three wheels with the single wheel at the rear. The chassis was made of steel . Many parts came from the Mini . This model remained a one-off.

Brand name Ayrespeed

The only model was the Six . This was a replica of a Jaguar XK 120 as a roadster . The Jaguar XJ 6 formed the basis . About three copies were made of this.
