Legend Motor Company was a British manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
1997 Terry Sands founded the company in Redditch in the county of Worcestershire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Legend . Production ended in 2001. A total of over 100 copies were made.
vehicles
The first and best-selling model was the Speedster . This was the replica of the Porsche 356 as a Speedster, taken over by the Alternative Vehicle Center . In many cases, the basis was a chassis developed in-house . An open two-seater body was mounted on it. Various engines from Alfa Romeo Alfasud , Subaru , VW Beetle and VW Type 4 powered the vehicles. About 70 copies were made between 1997 and 2001.
The California was similar, but more sporty, and found around 20 buyers in the same period.
The Convertible D , a version as a cabriolet , developed at the same time about three copies.
The 550 Spyder , a replica of the Porsche 550 , was imported from the USA with its own chassis. He found about four buyers.
The Ghia had its origin at Rudolph Perfect Roadster in Germany . The Evergreen Motor Company imported the kit and Legend Motor Company revised it. Around ten copies were made between 1999 and 2001.
