RN Wellington & Co. was a British company and manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The Farnham-based company , headed by Roy N. Wellington, originally made radios . In 1951 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was RNW . Two copies were made in the first year. Production ended in 1954. The total production number is not recorded.
vehicles
The only model was a microcar . A single - cylinder two-stroke engine from Villiers Ltd with a capacity of 197 cm³ and an output of 8 hp was mounted in the rear and drove the rear wheels. The maximum speed was given as 72 km / h. Front brakes were omitted. The body offered space for two people. With its four wheels, independent suspension and self-supporting body, which was either completely or partially made of aluminum , the model stood out from its mostly three-wheeled competing models. It was advertised as the cheapest British car at a new price of £ 285 .
