Hawk Cars Limited is a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

1986 Gerry Hawkridge founded the company in Frant in the county of East Sussex . He started producing automobiles and kits . Other sources mention 1991 as the start of production. The brand name is Hawk . The connection to Transformer Cars , in which Gerry Hawkridge was involved, is unclear. A total of over 700 copies have been made so far.

The first Stratos model is a further development of the Transformer HF 2000 . This is the replica of the Lancia Stratos . Different engines from Alfa Romeo and Ferrari power the vehicles. About 350 copies have been made so far.

Of the 246 Dino , a replica of the Dino 246 , six copies were made between 1986 and 1992 as a closed coupé and two as a coupé with a targa roof .

The 288 GTO , a replica of the Ferrari 288 GTO , found around three buyers between 1986 and 1990.

The 275 GTB corresponded to the Ferrari 275 GTB . About six copies were made between 1987 and 1990.

The 289 Series was released in 1990 and is a replica of the AC Cobra 289 . A chassis made of two tubes forms the basis. The four-cylinder engine from MG B drives the vehicles. About 300 copies have been made so far.

The 1.8 and 2.6 models are based on the AC Ace . In the same chassis as the 289 Series can also except the four-cylinder engine from the MG B six-cylinder engines from BMW , Triumph and the Ford Zephyr to be mounted. Around 50 copies have been made since 1992.

The V12 was in the range between 1993 and 1994 . This replica of the Ferrari 365 Daytona had a twelve-cylinder engine that came either from Ferrari or Jaguar Cars . He found about six buyers.

The 427 as a further development of the 289 Series was in the range between 2008 and 2010. About ten copies were made of this.

The mini-sprint , also called Stewart & Ardern , was a re- edition of the mini-sprint from the 1960s. Hawk produced between 1996 and 2000, Rally Sport Replicas from 2002 to 2005, and Enzo Designs between 2010 and 2011.

The Kirkham 289 and Kirkham 427 models are special. Kirkham Motorsports from Provo in the US state of Utah has these models manufactured in a plant in Poland . Hawk Cars sells them in Europe . These AC Cobra replicas have bodies made of aluminum .
