Leaping Cats is a British company in the automotive and former automobile manufacturer.

Company history

Craig Hinton, previously with Peter Morris Viking Cars led, in 1982 founded the company in Blaby in the county of Leicestershire . John Brown runs it. In addition to restoring old vehicles, they also began producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Leaping Cats . In 1983 automobile production ended. A total of about 28 copies were made.

The company is still active today as a restoration company. The company's headquarters are in Bulkington near Nuneaton in Warwickshire .

vehicles

One model was the 380 SSR , which corresponded to the Viking 380 . The vehicle was similar to the SS 100 , but was not a direct replica . The basis was a self-developed chassis with engine and wheel suspension from the Jaguar XJ 6 . An open body made of aluminum was mounted on it. The fenders were made of fiberglass . About eight copies of this model were made.

The other model was the C-Type . This was a replica of the Jaguar C-Type racing car . The price is described as high and the quality as very good. Around 20 of this model were made by 1983.
