Super Accessories Ltd. was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Les Montgomery worked in the furniture industry. In 1957 he founded the company in Bromley in the London Borough of Bromley and began manufacturing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Super , although Super Three and Super Two are occasionally mentioned for two special models. The company was also involved in vehicle tuning , selling SE Hamblin vehicles , hosting a kit car show at Biggin Hill in May 1961 , possibly the first of its kind, and in 1962 acquired Markham-Peasey Laminated Plastics , which made the Markham-Peasey . Production ended in 1965. A total of about 265 copies were made.

vehicles

The first model was the 750 . The open body was made of aluminum and offered space for two people. Twenty copies were made between 1957 and 1963.

The Sportsman model only produced 15 copies at the same time. The base provided the chassis from the Austin 7 . The open two-seater body designed by Jim Shaw was flatter and more modern than that of the 750 .

The most successful model was the Two with 200 copies between 1960 and 1965. A tubular frame from Bowden Engineering with 228 cm (90 inch ) wheelbase formed the basis. A four-cylinder engine from the Ford Prefect (E 93 A) powered the vehicle. The fiberglass body had steering front fenders. It originated in connection with Hamblin. The kit cost £ 99 without the motor . Leighton Motor Company from Biddenden under the direction of Stuart Souter tried between 2008 and 2009 to revive this model.

The Three was similar to the Two , but based on the Ford Popular . 30 copies were made between 1961 and 1965.

In Hellenic Motor Museum in Athens one is Super Two from 1962 on display.
