SE Hamblin Ltd. was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Sid Hamblin founded the company in the 1950s. The company was based on Priestlands Lane in Sherborne . In 1956 or 1957 he began producing automobiles and kits for kit cars . The brand name was Hamblin . Production ended in 1962. A total of about 213 copies were made. The company also produced plastic bodies for various manufacturers such as Super Accessories until 1965 . The company was sold in the early 1970s.

vehicles

The first Deluxe model appeared in April 1957. The chassis of the Austin 7 formed the basis . An open two-seater body made of aluminum was mounted on top. Twelve vehicles had been built by 1958.

The Cadet followed in 1958, 200 of which were made by 1960. The body was narrower than the first model and was made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic . Another difference was the front fenders mounted on the steering knuckles , which moved with the steering.

The Mk 2 was offered from 1960 to 1962. However, only one copy was made. This was also an open two-seater.

On December 6, 2004, the Bonhams auction house auctioned a 1959 Cadet Sport for 15,352 euros .
