Calvy was a British car brand.

Brand history

Richard Calvy sales vehicles and kits of NG Cars . In 1983 he founded the company Calvy Motor Car Company in Southend-on-Sea in the county Essex . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Calvy . Production initially ended in 1986. Calvy Car Company from Warley , Staffordshire continued production from 1990 to 1992. Another source states that the Calvy Car Company, under the direction of Richard Calvy, was the manufacturer from 1983 until a fire in 1984 and then Calvy Motor Company under the direction of Michael and Liam McGivern from 1984 to 1992.

Calvy Motors from Kidderminster in Worcestershire under the direction of John Jones was the last manufacturer between 1992 and 1995. A total of about 53 copies were made.

The only model was the Mitchel . This was a two-seater roadster. It was technically and visually similar to the NG TC . Only after a complaint from NG Cars did a ladder frame form the basis of the vehicles. A four-cylinder engine from MG B powered the vehicles. Alternatively, a was V8 engine from Rover possible.

From 1992 an extended version with 2 + 2 seats and the rear suspension of the Fiat 131 was also available.
