Projects of Distinction Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

1987 Bob Lewis founded the company in Redditch in the county of Worcestershire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand names were Cornish Classic Cars , Fergus , GPB and Sherborn . Production ended in 1999.

Brand name Cornish Classic Cars

Cornish Classic Cars produced the Osprey model between 1985 and 1987 . Projects of Distinction continued production from 1987 to 1988. The vehicle was similar to the Mercedes-Benz SSK . The basis was the Ford Cortina . A total of eight vehicles of this model were built.

Brand name Fergus

Fergus Engineering manufactured the Mosquito model between 1986 and 1987 . This was a replica of the Aston Martin Ulster . The base of the vehicle was a ladder frame. The open body was made of fiberglass and aluminum . The four-cylinder engine from the Morris Marina powered the vehicle. After a stopover at AIMS , who took over the project in 1991 and gave it up again in 1992 without having produced a kit, Projects of Distinction took over the model in 1992 and offered it until 1999.

Brand name GPB

Between 1989 and 1991 the company manufactured the GPB Type 59 . It was similar to the Bugatti Type 59 . A steel monocoque in connection with the front and rear subframes made of tubes formed the basis in the center of the vehicle . The six-cylinder engine came from Jaguar Cars . Three copies were made of this. Teal Cars continued production under its own brand name from 1991.

Brand name Sherborn

This was a 1930s style delivery van . A chassis made of steel formed the basis. The body was made of aluminum panels. Many parts came from the Leyland Sherpa . Around 17 vehicles were built between 1993 and 1995.
