Grid Base Limited , formerly Chevron Cars Limited was a British company in the automotive and former automobile manufacturer.

Company history

Roger Ivan Andreason founded Chevron Cars Limited in 1984 . He started producing automobiles in 1990 with the help of Scott Ellis Racing and also began offering kits in 1994 . The brand name was Chevron , just like the former British racing car manufacturer Chevron Cars . Timothy Edwin Colman became second director in 1991 at the latest. In 1998 automobile production ended. A total of about 13 copies were made. On May 29, 2007, the company was renamed Gridbase Limited and dissolved on December 4, 2007.

The locations are Piddletrenthide in the county of Dorset , Winchester in Hampshire until March 20, 1992 , Hook in Hampshire until August 16, 2004 and Sherborne in Dorset until the end .

vehicles

The first model was the B 16 . This was a replica of the Chevron B 16 . The basis was a semi-space frame with a monocoque and some parts made of aluminum . The closed body was made of fiberglass . There was a choice of engines from Cosworth with a capacity of 2000 cc and an output of 215 hp as well as V6 engines from the Alpine A 610 . Initially, only the complete vehicle was in the range. About three copies were made by 1998.

The B 8 was on offer between 1992 and 1998 . This coupe was modeled on the Chevron B 8 . Engines came from Alfa Romeo and Ford . Complete vehicles cost from £ 40,000 . About eight copies were made.

The pick-me-up was a completely different model . A tubular steel frame formed the basis. A body made of fiberglass and aluminum was mounted on top. There was a choice of pick-ups as well as two- and four-seater beach wagons . The four-cylinder engine came from the Mini Metro .
