Spirit was a British car brand.

Brand history

1979 Dave Perry founded the company in Perry Automotive Developments in Brightlingsea in the county of Essex . He started importing and shortly thereafter producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was u. a. Spirit . The liquidation in 1982 was followed by a re-establishment as Automotive Design & Developments . The company's headquarters were temporarily in Clacton-on-Sea in Essex at the time and later again in Brightlingsea. Spirit Cars of London from London from 1983 to 1984, Classic Automotive Reproductions from Bridlington in East Riding of Yorkshire 1984, RW Kitcars from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire under the direction of Roger Woolley from 1986 to 1987 and D&S Engineering from 1987 to 1988 set the Production continued while maintaining the brand name. Only Daytona Classics and Gatsby Cars from 1984 to 1986 used the Gatsby brand name . A total of about 14 copies were made.

Only the SS model was on offer . It was a further development of the Adam SSK that Perry imported from Classic Motor Carriages from the USA . A front-mounted four-cylinder engine from the Ford Cortina now propelled the vehicle. Alternatively, a Rover V8 engine was also available . The width of the vehicle and the length of the doors increased.
