HDS

HDS is a British car brand.

Brand history

Alan Hooper founded the company in 1987 Lindy Car Company in London district of South Norwood . In 1991 he presented a vehicle under the brand name Lindy . In the same year he renamed the company Hooper Design Services and began series production of automobiles and kits . The brand name has been HDS since then . In 1996 it was renamed Hooper Creative Design Services . From 2000 to 2001 DG Engineering and DG Motor Services from Charlton in London continued production, and from 2001 to 2005 Reed Motor Engineering from South Norwood under the direction of Rob Askew. Since 2005 Fiorano from Bromley in the London Borough of Bromley has been the manufacturer under the direction of Mick Michaelidis. A total of about 36 copies have been made so far.

A model was on offer that had three different names depending on the version. The open body resembled a Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa . The Lindy was based on the extended chassis of the Triumph Spitfire and had its four-cylinder engine . Alternatively, the chassis from the Triumph GT 6 could be used. The Defender had a ladder frame and many parts from the Triumph Dolomite . The Warrior had a spaceframe. From 1993 engines from Fiat could also be used, and from 2002 engines from Ford Sierra .

The model name has been Type 48 Corsa Spyder since 2005 .
