Opus Cars was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company based in Ringwood in the county of Hampshire began in 1998 with the production of automobiles and kits . The brand name was Opus . Production ended in 1999. A total of about two copies were made. The connection to sculptural engineering is unclear.

There was no connection with Opus Cars from Bristol , which a few years earlier manufactured automobiles and also marketed them under the Opus brand.

The only model was the sprint . This model was an open two-seater in the style of the Lotus Seven . The basis was a spaceframe. The body mainly consisted of metal panels. Only the front and the steering front fenders were optionally made of fiberglass or carbon fiber . The engine came from the Honda Fireblade .
