Citroën UK Limited , previously Citroën Cars Ltd. and Citroën Gear Ltd. Co. , is a British company in the automotive sector .
Company history
André Citroën founded the Citroën Gear Ltd. branch in 1913 . Co. in Slough to manufacture and sell gears . 1919 began selling Citroën automobiles through Gaston Limited from London . From 1923, Citroën Cars Limited from London sold the vehicles. On February 18, 1926, an automobile assembly plant was opened in Slough. The assembly of vehicles that corresponded to the French models began. However, they were right-hand drive. An independent model was created between 1959 and 1964. The brand name was Citroën . Production ended in 1965. Since then it has only been responsible for the sales of Citroën vehicles in the UK. The current company name is Citroën UK Limited. The company is headquartered at Pinley House, Sunbeam Way 2, Coventry .

The Citroën Type C , called Cloverleaf , was the first model. The B 12 , C 4 and C 6 followed . The Traction Avant was available as a Light Fifteen 12 HP , which corresponded to the 11 CV , and as a Big Fifteen , which corresponded to the 15-Six . The 2 CV and the DS were also produced in England.
The only independent model was the Citroën Bijou , which was created between 1959 and 1964. Peter Kirwin-Taylor was the designer. On the chassis of the 2 CV one was coupe -Karosserie of plastic mounted. The vehicle was heavier than the original and therefore slower. The new price was higher than the price of a Mini that was presented in the same year. The market success remained low.
