Xanthos is a British car brand.

Brand history

1990 Henry Twomes founded the company Southwest Replicas in Dunchideock in the county of Devon . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Xanthos . Around 1993 the company moved to Sidbury in Devon. From 1995 Xanthos Sports Cars from Colyton in Devon and from 2001 Xanthos Cars from Honiton in Devon continued production. Stuart Pease (Fiberglass) of Rotherham , South Yorkshire has owned the rights since 2006 . A total of about 45 copies have been made so far.

The only model is the Type 90 . This is the replica of the Lotus 23 racing car . A spaceframe tubular frame forms the basis. An open two-seater body made of fiberglass , which consists of four parts, is mounted on it. The engines come from Ford and Lotus Cars and are mounted in a mid-engine design behind the seats.
