Autobodies was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company from Oldham in the county of Greater Manchester began producing automobiles in 1958. The brand name was initially Autobodies , from 1960 Autobee . Production ended in 1962. A total of about 110 copies were made.

This was a two-seater coupe . The chassis with a 228 cm (90 inch ) wheelbase came from the Ford Popular . In the Mk 1 version, the grille was similar to that of the Jaguar C-Type . The front of the Mk 2 was similar to the front of the Jaguar E-Type , which however appeared later. About 80 of these models were made.

Brand name Autobee

The Autobee Pacemaker was the further development of the previous models. The front had been revised and looked independent. The interior now offered space for four people. After around 30 copies of this model, the company ended.

An existing Morris- based vehicle in need of restoration was recently sold on a website.
