Rotrax Sales , previously Adams Rotrax and JS Rotrax , was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Dennis Adams, who previously for Marcos Engineering worked, founded in 1988, the company Adams Rotrax in Bradford-on-Avon in the county of Wiltshire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Rotrax . In 1991 Mike Kenyon took over the company, renamed it JS Rotrax and relocated the company's headquarters to Bristol . In 1994 it became Rotrax Sales under the direction of Paul Jelf. Production ended in 1997. A total of about 75 copies were made.

Rotrax Cars International from South Africa was a licensee .

vehicles

The basis of the vehicles was a stable chassis . An open body made of fiberglass was mounted on top. The four-cylinder engine came from the Ford Cortina . Much emphasis was placed on high ground clearance. Initially, only the two-seat Sport model was available . The four-seater Safari with a longer wheelbase was added to the range in 1991.
