The in Welsh Milford Haven based company Hensen Automotive was a short-lived manufacturer of sports cars, which were mostly produced in kit form. Hensen existed from 1983 to 1985 and was most noticeable with the two-door Hensen M30 , which in Great Britain is now one of the modern classics.

Company history

Hensen Automotive was founded by night club owner Hugo Henricksen. The name of the company is a composition of the first and the last syllable of the surname of the founder. Henricksen has owned several kit cars since the 1970s, which were completed from American kits.

With the M30, he designed his first own car, which he offered to interested customers for sale from 1983. The M30 was technically based on components from the Ford Granada (first series) . 17 vehicles were built in three years. The first six were offered as finished vehicles, the rest were made as a kit . Many of them have been customized to varying degrees by customers. At the end of 1985 Henricksen sold the construction of the M30 to the British kit-car manufacturer Eagle Cars; but no further series production came about here.

Hensen then tried to establish a replica of the AC Cobra , but only two copies of this model were made by 1986. After that, Hensen Automotive ceased operations. Henricksen considered five years later to resume production of the M30 with a view to the American market; However, since there was insufficient customer interest here, the revival of the project failed.
