Martin & Walker Limited , previously Technic Limited , is a British manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
1987 Barrie Martin founded the company Technic Limited in Andover in the county of Hampshire . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Technic . In 1997 Mike Walker joined the company, whereupon the company changed to Martin & Walker Limited . A total of about 236 copies have been made so far.
vehicles
The first and best-selling model is the 550 . This is a replica of a Porsche 550 . A spaceframe tubular frame forms the basis. An open two-seater body is mounted on it. The engine is mounted in a mid-engine design behind the seats and drives the rear axle. The engines come from Alfa Romeo , Porsche and Vauxhall . Other parts come from the VW Beetle . About 160 copies of this model have been made so far.
The GTS as a replica of the Porsche 904 has been available since 1996. It is based on the Porsche 911 , weighs only 650 kg and is only available as a complete vehicle. It has found around 30 buyers so far, including in the USA .
The Speedster appeared in 1997. It is similar to the Porsche 356 as a Speedster and is based on the chassis of the VW Beetle with a fiberglass body . About 40 copies of this model have been made so far.
The GT Coupé is a replica of the Porsche 356 Coupé based on the VW Beetle and has not been very successful with around six buyers since 1998.
