Royale was a British car brand.

Brand history

Rob Ryder and Jerry Grolin founded Ryder Automotive in Coventry in 1980 . The companies Ryder Design & Engineering and Ryder Designs are also mentioned. They started making automobiles and kits . The brand name was Royale . Two other sources describe the brand in the Ryder section . In 1982 the company was dissolved. A model was produced by other companies until 1990. A total of about 27 copies were made.

Rembrandt model

This model was adopted by Pelland in 1980 . It was based on the VW Beetle . However, the four - cylinder boxer engine was positioned further to the front, i.e. directly behind the seats as a mid-engine . Production ended in 1982. A total of about 15 copies were made.

This model was then produced and marketed by Graham Autos (Glassfibre) as Pelland from 1982 to 1985 , from 1985 to 1990 by Listair Cars as Listair and from 1990 to 1993 by Dash Sportscars as Dash .

Royale model

This model was under this brand name from 1981 to 1990. It was similar to a Morgan . The basis was the chassis of the VW Beetle with a rear engine. A total of about twelve copies were made.

Graham Autos (Glassfibre) from Carlisle from 1982 to 1984, Saber Cars from Wallsend from 1984 to 1987 and Fabrication Design from Newcastle upon Tyne 1990 continued production of this model while maintaining the brand name.
