Dare (UK) Limited is a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The brothers Ivor and Trevor Walklett, who previously worked at Ginetta , and Trevor's son Mark founded the company in Colchester in 1991 . You own the production rights for two Ginetta models, while initially a Japanese company held the marketing rights. Dare produces these models, initially for the Japanese. In 1998 the first self-designed vehicle appeared. The brand name is Dare .

The two Ginetta models G 4 and G 12 are still on offer .

The first independent model was the DZ . The engine was mounted in the middle of the vehicle and drove the rear wheels. The Ford Zetec engine was a four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 2000 cc . The power was 130 hp or 210 hp with a turbocharger . There was a choice of a roadster and a coupé with gullwing doors, both two-seater.

TG Sport appeared later . This was a doorless roadster. There was a choice of Ford-Zetec engines with 1800 cc and 150 to 180 hp, with 2000 cc and 165 to 195 hp and a racing engine with 230 hp.
