Strathcarron Sports Cars PLC was a British manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Ian Macpherson founded the company in Tebworth in 1998 . The first prototype was exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show that same year . In 1999 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Strathcarron . Production ended in 2001.
vehicles
The company made sports cars. Reynard Motorsport designed the chassis . The design for the body came from Simon Cox. The doorless roadster body made of aluminum offered space for two people. With a wheelbase of 2388 mm, the vehicle was 3607 mm long, 1702 mm wide, 1194 mm high and weighed 560 kg. The engine was mounted in a mid-engine design behind the seats and drove the rear axle via a six-speed gearbox. The SC-4 was the base model. The vehicle was powered by a Triumph Motorcycles motorcycle engine with a capacity of 1200 cc and 125 hp . In the SC 5 A model , a more powerful engine delivered 140 hp. The SC 6 , 2001 was an entry model at a price of less than 20,000 pounds planned.
