The Rex McCandless Ltd. was a British car manufacturer based in Belfast in Northern Ireland . A Ford- based sports car was built there from 1956 to 1957 .

The McCandless Sports based on the Ford Ten from which it also the side-valve took four-cylinder in-line engine with 1.2 liter displacement, the 36 hp (26.5 kW) at 4400 min -1 made. Unlike the Ford, the McCandless had a central tubular chassis with individually suspended wheels and coil springs.

Only a few copies were built and in 1957 the construction of road vehicles was given up again.
