Mercury Motorsport & Engineering Company Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Peter Baisden, a founder of Kara Sports Cars , founded in 1993 along with Richard Turner and Karl Seyfang the company in Shoeburyness in the county of Essex . They took over the project from Kara and started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Mercury . Production ended in 1998. RS Automotive and later RS Motorsport continued production under their own brand name. In total, these four companies have produced around 115 copies so far.

vehicles

The only model Evolution 200 corresponded to the previous Kara 430 . This was a replica of the Ford RS 200 . The basis was a spaceframe. A body made of fiberglass panels was mounted on top. Suspension, steering and brakes came from the Ford Sierra . Various four-cylinder engines and V6 engines from Ford , V6 engines from Renault and V8 engines powered the vehicles.
