Strada Cars Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company based in Saxmundham in the county of Suffolk was founded 1971st In 1974 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Strada . 100 vehicles per year were planned. Production ended in 1975. A total of three copies were made.

The only model was the 4/88 . The basis was a spaceframe frame with wheel suspensions from the Triumph GT 6 . A four-cylinder engine from the Ford Escort Mexico with a displacement of 1600 cm³ and an output of 88 hp was mounted in a mid-engine design behind the seats and powered the rear axle. A Volkswagen gearbox was used and adapted. The two-seater body was made of fiberglass . The vehicle passed the crash test of the Motor Industry Research Association .
