Costin was a British car brand.

Brand history

Costin Limited was based in Wales . There an attempt was made between 1990 and 1995 to revive the Costin brand from Costin Drake Technology . Were involved Frank Costin , Simon Garrett and Bill Barranco. 2007 became Specialist Automotive in Sayers Common in the county of West Sussex the project. The production of automobiles and kits began there . The brand name was Costin . It is not known when the company was dissolved, but the last saved version of the website points to 2010. A total of about four copies were made.

The first company initially tried to make replicas of the old Costin Amigo model as Costin Nathan . That plan was abandoned.

In 1993 the first prototype of the Roadster model appeared . The basis was a spaceframe. A four-cylinder engine from Rover drove the vehicle.

Chris Holloway bought the second vehicle, which he built with the help of Joe Tavani from Specialist Automotive. In 2004 it was approved for road use.

Based on this vehicle, Joe Tavani launched a revised version of the MG F with a four-cylinder engine in 2007 .
