Grantura Plastics was a British manufacturer of automobiles and bodywork .

Company history

John Ward, Bernard Williams and Tommy Entwistle founded the company in Blackpool in 1966 . Initially, they manufactured bodies for TVR . In 1968 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Grantura . Production ended in 1973 or 1974. A total of about 150 copies were made.

vehicles

The first model was the Gem . Like the Trident before , it built on the TVR. It was slightly longer at the rear than a typical TVR and had a rectangular vehicle front. The coupé body was made of fiberglass and offered space for two people. The carriage of a powered V6 engine of Ford with 3000 cc displacement . This model was in the range from 1968 to 1973 or 1974.

1969 appeared the identical models Yak and Yeoman . They were open leisure cars in the style of the Mini Moke . The basis was the Mini . By 1970 150 copies were produced, both fully assembled and as a kit .
