Company history
Dan Pratt and Steve Watson founded the company in 1981 in Hook in the county of Hampshire . They started making automobiles and kits . The brand name was Dragonfly . Mervyn Rees, who served for some time as a director for the company, took over in 1984 and relocated to Ash Vale in Hampshire. Production ended in 1986. A total of about 15 copies were made.
There was no connection with Dragonfly Cars from Nottinghamshire , which manufactured and sold three-wheeled vehicles between 1994 and 1995 with the same company and brand name.
vehicles
Only one model was on offer. The chassis of the Austin-Healey Sprite or MG Midget formed the basis, but the front area was extended. The body, in the style of a 1930s roadster , was made of fiberglass . The vehicle was powered by a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1098 cm³ and 56 hp .
According to a source, it took three times the time to assemble compared to a similar model from Arkley Sportscars . The high price and time-consuming assembly resulted in low demand.
