Micron Plastics was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Bill Ashton, Roger Everett, Mike Eyre and the brothers Sandy and Tony Wemuss founded the company in 1954 or 1955. The seat was on Woodcock Hill in Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire . The production of automobiles and kits began. The brand name was Microplas . Vehicle production ended in 1959. A total of around 1090 copies were made. The company was active in the boats and hardtops sector until the 1980s.

Racing car with Mistral body

There were four models on offer, all of which were manufactured from 1955 to 1959. It was an open two-seater with a body made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic .

The first model was the stiletto on the chassis of the Austin 7 . 500 copies were made. The Hawthorn from Pilgrim Cars , released in 1986, is similar to this model.

The Mistral presented in spring 1955 had the same production number. The Ford Ten formed the basis. The Electron of Fairthorpe was similar.

40 copies were made of the Scimitar based on Austin 7.

Bill Ashton was the designer of the last model, the Toledo . The body was designed for chassis with 203 to 213 cm (80 to 84 inches ) wheelbase . Micron Plastics made 50 copies.
