Deauville Cars Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Michael William Richards and Benjamin Michael Richards founded on 19 February 2001, the company in Bognor Regis in the county of West Sussex . They started producing automobiles and kits in 2003 . The brand name was Deauville . The company was dissolved on September 24, 2013. A total of almost 100 copies were made.

The company manufactured various vehicles based on the Citroën 2 CV .

The Canard appeared in 2003. This was an open car that found around 40 buyers. The large angular air inlet opening on the front was striking.

The Canjito 602 was launched in the same year . About 30 copies of this vehicle in the style of the Citroën Méhari were made.

Mike Horton designed the landaulet , later renamed Sandringham . This was an extended canard with a landaulet body. There were around three buyers between 2007 and 2010.

Danny Blaauw, who sold the vehicles in the Netherlands, designed the Hot Rod , also called Rondo and Corbeau . This was a two-seater roadster , of which around two vehicles were built between 2007 and 2008. Voglietta Cars from the Netherlands tried to offer this model under its own name.

The Canard 2 appeared in 2010. It was similar to the Canard , but had a round air inlet opening in the front and differently designed doors and trunk lids. Around ten vehicles were built before production was discontinued.

The Martlet had a 1920s-style van body that found around two buyers as of 2010.

From 2001 Deauville Cars manufactured the Manx . Previous manufacturers were Ayrspeed-Manx from 1991 to 2000 under the brand name Manx and Fereday Cars under the brand name Vario. It was an open two-seater. The three manufacturers produced a total of around twelve vehicles of this model.
