Circuito Ascari (also Ascari Race Resort ) is a race track near the city of Ronda in the Spanish province of Malaga .

The private track is named after the Italian racing driver Alberto Ascari . It opened in 2003. There are only a few racing events, the route is mainly used for driver training, test drives and company presentations. In 2006 it was classified in the 2T Nacional category by the Spanish automobile association Real Federación Española de Automovilismo . The track was built by the Dutch entrepreneur Klaas Zwart , racing driver and founder of the automobile manufacturer Ascari Cars .

The facility is located in a valley. The racetrack is 5425 meters long and has 13 right and 13 left turns, some of which are built with canting (up to 18%). It is around 12 meters wide over its entire length. The ascents and descents are up to 12%. The track can be divided into three different circuits with cross braces.

The hotel complex of the Ascari Race Resort is built in the Moorish style and is in close proximity to the track. A conference room, meeting room and catering are available for hosting events .

Other facilities include a go-kart track, an off-road track, a buggy track and a helicopter landing pad. The driver training center located south of the main route has an artificial wall of water and a circular path.

Mainly national events are held at the Circuito Ascari, such as the Legends Car Cup in 2009 or the Andalusian circuit championship in 2012. In 2010, the international BOSS GP formula series ended its season here.

Motorsport fans can book driving courses at the affiliated "Academy" and use the available racing vehicle fleet. There is the possibility, as a non-racing driver u. a. driving a Formula 1 vehicle on the track. The school vehicles available include the Lotus Elise , Radical SR3 , Lola Formula 3 and the Benetton F1 (1997). Among other things, the track operator offers membership in the Ascari Race Club , which also enables regular use of the track.

Furthermore, presentations and test drives of new models from different car brands, tire companies and motorcycle brands take place at the Circuito Ascari.
