Diego García , full name Diego Gonzalo García Cardozo , (born December 29, 1996 in Salto ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.68 meter tall midfielder García played for Ceibal in Salto from 2010 to 2012. He then worked in Salto for Salto Nuevo from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015 he was part of the Liverpool Montevideo youth team . In 2015 he moved to Juventud and was a member of the youth team (Formativas). At the club from Las Piedras he was part of the matchday squad for the first time on November 21, 2015 in a league game of the professional team, but was not used. On February 21, 2016, he finally made his debut for Juventud in the Primera División when he was called into the starting line-up by coach Jorge Giordano on matchday three of Clausura in a 3-1 away win against Liverpool FC. In total, he completed nine top division games in the 2015/16 season and eight in the 2016 season - each without a personal goal. During the 2017 season he was used ten times (no goal) in the league. At the end of July 2017 he was loaned to the second division club Tacuarembó FC .
